Bringing up a family should be an adventure, not an anxious discipline in which everybody is constantly graded for performance. - Milton R. Saperstein

Christmas Lights at Shore Acres
We finally made it to see the annual Christmas light display at Shore Acres! We have been trying to go see them for a few weeks now and each day/evening that we think we could squeeze it in we have to cancel it due to the rain and/or children crashing earlier than normal. Well, last night we finally made it! We rounded up some friends to go with us and while we were there we kept adding and adding to our group. The church and daycare definitely brought the biggest crowd!! In the end waiting was truly worth it! Thanks to everyone who came with us to enjoy the lights and of course the cider and cookies!

Christmas with kids!
Christmas is so much fun with kids!! Jason and I have always loved Christmas and everything that goes with it...but this year, it all seemed so much more, more special.
Chloe was so in to "Santa" this year---consistently asking for a truck and a snake. And yes, each time she asked Santa, he would ask her if she wanted a baby or something pretty and with that she would reply, "just a truck and snake!" Santa did deliver on Christmas morning bringing exactly what she wanted and he even left her a note that thanked her for her cookies and milk, all to which she could hardly believe!
Ally enjoyed each gift she opened...always making sure she put all the paper in the garbage sack after she was done. Ally got her first Cabbage Patch doll this year--babies are her thing!
Chloe was thrilled when she opened her Tinker Bell doll and matching outfit! She danced till we told her it was time to put her pajamas back on!
Jason and I sat back after Christmas and realized that the best part of it all was being with the family and watching our girls.

Chloe's Big Girl Haircut

We decided it was time to cut Chloe's hair...it was long enough for very cute ponytails, but they would last until we pulled out of the driveway. So, we decided it was time! Codee, our family hairstylist, agreed and so it is now! Chloe instantly lost the "baby" look and now seems way too old. I guess she is almost 3. We love the haircut and she does too!

2008 Christmas Letter
December 2008
Merry Christmas to our Family and Friends!!!
Here is a small synopsis of the past year for the Moore’s. We know how to stay busy and we enjoy every minute of it too! We hope you don’t mind having to read our annual letter off of your computer screen this year! So here it goes…the Moore’s in 2008!
Winter:
We kicked off the New Year with Chloe turning 2! I remember putting the party together and feeling it was almost impossible for her to be so big, so fast (now we are looking at her turning 3!). February brought the start of an annual family trip to Diamond Lake. All of my parents, my brother John and his family and us and the girls left the coastline and headed for the hills and spent 3 days, 4-wheeling, snowball fighting and hot chocolate sipping! We already have the trip planned for 2009!
Spring:
In April, Jason turned 30 and we celebrated our 4th anniversary. We took 2 weeks of work/vacation in New Zealand, leaving Allyson with Papa Ray and Grandma Sue and Chloe with Auntie Kate, for our annual Celebration Center Impacting the Nations Conference. Jason and I enjoyed our time away very much but, were so ready to be home with the girls…we missed Allyson’s first time crawling by 1 day!
Summer:
June was kicked off with the marriage of Uncle Ryan (Jason’s brother) and Auntie Kate. Chloe and Allyson got to be flower girls…Chloe thought the wedding was all for her and loved every minute of it. July brought a first birthday party for Allyson—how did it come so fast?!? If any of you know us we love to plan a party and we did, with a big circus tent in the backyard to boot’ and we had to move it inside due to the “coastal wind” that shows up when you least expect it. All in all, it was a fantastic party and the only ones disappointed were Dad and Mom! Allyson began walking completely on her own 2 days after her birthday. We enjoyed many picnics and gatherings with our church family to round out our summer!
Fall:
September is a busy time for our family as we gear up for a new school year at Just Kids and this year was no exception with a full enrollment. We stole away for a few days of a family vacation with our dear friends, the Boos Family, up the coast and enjoyed the downtime immensely. We made our annual family trip to the pumpkin patch the first weekend of October. It was muddy, but oh’ so much fun! November brought the dreaded “30” for me too…but I got to spend the day with my husband, brother and sister-in-law at the Oregon vs. Stanford game, and it made it all worth it! Chloe graduated into the next level of swimming classes (Mom didn’t have to get in with her, thank goodness) and solidified that she is partly a “fish”! Thanksgiving came with a great feast with 30 + family and friends…our biggest yet. The holiday season is hustling’ and bustling’ and us Moore’s love every minute of it. This is the time of year that we so enjoy celebrating with all of the family…remembering how truly blessed we are.
The New Year looks bright and full already for us, but we know that it will be fun to look back again next year at all the blessings that our Lord packed in there for us. We hope and pray that this Holiday Season is one that allows you to see all of the blessings you have in and around your lives.

For my 30th birthday (in November) my Dad and Stepmom got me tickets to attend the U of O game vs. Stanford! AWESOME!!! My brother (John) and his wife (Jen) bought tickets too...we sat 11 rows from the winning Duck endzone! It rained the 1st quarter...part of half-time...3rd quarter...and part of the 4th quarter..but it didn't matter at all! Remember: IT NEVER RAINS AT AUTZEN STADIUM...the announcer said it was the 5th game in 16 seasons that it had rained. We were cold and wet by the time we got to our cars, but enjoyed every minute of it. Turning 30 was just another day...I think I have my husband hooked on college football now! YES!!
Decorating our Christmas Tree
Here are a few photos of the girls' with out tree! They both (Mom too!) had a great time, getting each ornament from Dad and adding it to the tree. Ally enjoyed crawling around the tree to help with the tree skirt. Chloe did a really good job in spreading her ornaments out... Ally tried to help by re-arranging each ornament Chloe would add! In the end we had a great time with the girls' and we so enjoyed watching their excitement with each ornament in their hand. I don't know how we ever found much enjoyment in decorating a tree without kids!!!

Thanksgiving
I know its taken me a few days to get these up...but hey I did it finally! We had an amazing Thanksgiving with our family and friends. There was about 30 of us. We hosted the "feast" in our churches dining hall that is in phase 2 of remodeling. We ate, laughed, played games and went home feeling "full". I realized this year that I wouldn't want Thanksgiving any other way--the more family and friends the better. I watched my girls eat and play with some of their best friends and thought, how lucky are they to get this at such a young age!
